How Shiatsu Can Improve Health and Well-Being
Like other eastern therapies, such as acupuncture, Shiatsu takes care of the patient as a whole and acts on the body's energy system, through the meridians - energy points scattered throughout the body related to physical, emotional and psychic functions.
Applied with pressure on the meridians performed with the therapist's fingers, wrists, elbows and even knees, the technique focuses on eliminating energy blockages, favoring the revitalization of the organism and strengthening the immune system.
In addition to relaxing and invigorating, the technique promotes physical and mental balance, contributing to the treatment and prevention of headaches and body pain, tiredness, insomnia, anxiety, depression, intestinal and menstrual disorders, breathing problems, sinusitis, constipation, tension muscle, arthritis, among others. The benefits include improving the skin, muscles, nervous, circulatory and endocrine systems, digestive and respiratory systems and bone.
Sessions usually take an average of 50 minutes and are held with the patient dressed and usually mobilize the patient's entire body. And although treatments lasting 4 to 6 weeks are indicated, the effects of the method can be seen in the first session.
